Hello! My name is Alicia Deakin, a creative graphic designer with a flair for colour and simplicity. My design days started at a small lingerie company where I learnt my way around photoshop and illustrator slowly but surely finding my new passion. I made artwork ranging from online banners, web designs, brand packages, linesheets, social media imagery and lookbooks. The last year of my life has been in Florence, Italy where I took courses in Visual Communication, Creative Advertising and Web Design to name a few, to enhance and develop my new found skill set. Along the way there have been numerous projects I've been involved with ranging from fashion, to cakes, to seaweed! And all the more to come.
I am also a self-taught modern calligrapher on the side, taking bespoke orders for anything from weddings to Christmas cards to baby names. It started off as nothing more than a hobby (one that I wasn't great at either...). I decided to give it a go after becoming obsessed with watching video after video of therapeutic and completely mesmerising calligraphy, It did not start off well I have to say but after a year of persistence and practice I think it's just about starting to pay off... check out 'The Inky Brush' portfolio if you're curious.
